The abiotic factors of the rainforest is the amount of water and sunlight, the climate, and the typical weather.
Amount of water: Rainforests constantly release vast amounts of moisture into the air. This moisture forms rain clouds and releases water back into the Earth. Without the incredible amount of moisture added back to the atmosphere by the rainforest, the Earth would experience significant dryness and risk of drought. Some of the biggest contributors of this great amount of moisture are the rivers and lakes within the rainforests. (http://cuipo.org/TheRainforest/RainforestWater.aspx)
Amount of sunlight: 12 hours a day regardless of the season
Weather: temperatures between 75 and 80 degrees and it daily forecasts for rain.
Climate:The total rainfall for the year is between 1500 and 2500 mm. There is no dry season. Rain falls every day. The temperature during the day is around 75ºF - 80ºF. At night it drops to between 65ºF - 70ºF. There is a little difference between the warmest and the coolest months. The relative humidity is always high. This type of climate in the tropical rain forest is known as equatorial climate. (http://library.thinkquest.org/26634/forest/climate.htm)
